    Your railway pension

  • Your spouse's pension

When you die your spouse will be paid a half of your normal pension. Your normal pension is:

    • Your basic pension on the day you took payment of your benefits. It is also increased by any pension increases which have been made.
    • Your normal pension does not include any voluntary reduction of your pension which you chose at the time you retired. These reductions could be exchanging pension for cash, taking the level pension option, or swapping part of your pension for additional dependant's pension.
