Financial planning
A Retirement Pension Forecast from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will tell you:
- the amount of state pension you have earned to date; and
- an estimate of the pension that the DWP expects you to receive when you reach state pension age.
The forecast does not include your pension from your railway pension or any other private or company pension.
The forecast is based on the current rules on state pensions, your National Insurance contribution record and an estimate of the National Insurance contributions you will make up to retirement, and today's retirement pension rates.
You should request a forecast if you are unsure of your personal situation, if you are within five years of state pension age, or a married woman who has left and/or returned to work.
To get a forecast contact your local Benefits office for form BR19, or telephone 0191 218 7585 where Benefits Agency staff will help you fill in the form during your call.
Or see Quick Links - DWP Website to go to the DWP website where you can fill in the form on-line.
