    About the fund

  • About the fund

The British Transport Police Force Superannuation Fund is the final salary pension scheme. When you retire you are entitled to a pension and tax-free lump sum. The cost of providing the benefits is shared between you and your employer.

There are two sections of the fund. These is the 1968 section (for members who joined before September 1970) and the 1970 section (for members who joined after September 1970).

The 1970 section is split into two parts:

    • pre 1st April 2007 for those members who joined before 1st April 2007; and
    • post 1st April 2007 (known as the '2007 section') for those who joined on or after 1st April 2007.
