    AVCs can be a good, tax efficient, way of boosting your pension benefits from your pension scheme.

    You can join an AVC arrangement if you are already a contributing member of a scheme.

    You choose how much you want to pay and your personnel office collect contributions through your payroll before you are taxed. This way you get the tax relief immediately.
